Am I a candidate for Dental Implants?

Anyone with a missing tooth is a candidate for dental implant. Only time it is difficult to place implant is when remaining bone and gum is minimal.  When one has lost a lot of bone, bone grafting is needed to increase the width of the bone and gum.

When the tooth is removed or it is lost , bone and gum loss process starts. It is a continuous process. It does not stop!!!  Only way to stop it is to get the implant placed in that region. Because implant will give the functional stimuli to maintain the bone.   If you have waited a long time after losing tooth, don’t delay, more you wait more will be the bone loss and more difficult it will be to place implant.

So many time the question is whether you have enough bone to place implant or not. Do you need bone grafting or not. So these questions can only be answered after thorough examination and radiographs or CT scans. Please contact us at 925 679 3333 to schedule an appointment.
